This Apprenticeship will cover work in a range of digital technologies which will help us to share and use information, technologies such as mobile phones, computers, broadband provision and satellite communications. All these jobs require you to have technical skills, which you’ll gain from your Apprenticeship, as well as good people skills.

This Apprenticeship gives you the choice of focusing on either telecoms or IT. The telecom side of it covers broadband, mobile phones and satellite communications. This is a fast moving sector, so it is important for Apprentices to be interested in new technology. Telecom Apprentices will learn about things such as; customer care, system security, managing software development and basic IT applications.

The IT industry develops computer solutions that help other businesses and individuals to become more successful in their work. An IT Professional serves customers in all types of different businesses. They can develop software or websites, help companies to set up new systems and train people to use their IT facilities. IT Apprentices will learn about and study how to install software, communication skills and technical fault diagnosis and then go on to gain an IT qualification from a recognised group such as Microsoft or CompTIA.
